Cultural touchpoints
Every year, Van Lang University organizes cultural and artistic exchange activities between the Cultural Heritage Association, the local community, and universities domestically and internationally to preserve and conserve intangible cultural heritage. As a result, folk songs, and local dances are vividly reproduced on the stage of Van Lang University, preserving the past for the present and aiming for a sustainable future for different generations.
Quan Họ Bắc Ninh folk songs was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2009. Quan Họ today carries a new vitality to evoke community awareness of the values that heritage brings. The "Quan Ho Folk Song" exchange program at Van Lang University contributes to reminding traditional culture, preserving the beauty of the nation, and nurturing the love for homeland culture in the hearts of young people.
The program was held on April 26, 2022, at Van Lang University.
It was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2013. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of this art form, Van Lang University collaborated with the Cultural Heritage Association of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the presentation with the theme "Love of the Southern Land" to bring this art form closer to students, fostering love for the homeland and pride in our traditional values.
The program was performed on January 19, 2024, at Van Lang University.
UNESCO officially recognized Thai Xoe Art as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2021. For the first time, Van Lang University collaborated with Tay Bac University to organize the program "Fragrance of Northwest Forests" to recreate this art form for students to enjoy and learn from it. This is a form of connecting human aspirations with the spiritual world. Xoe dance has always been an indispensable activity in cultural and spiritual life of the Thai , an ethnic minority, community.
The program took place on October 6, 2023, at Van Lang University.
Space of Gong Culture was recognized by UNESCO as a masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity in 2005. The deep and resounding sounds of gongs amidst the great mountains and forests are reproduced by the art team of Tay Nguyen University on the stage of Van Lang University, introducing the unique cultural beauty of the Central Highlands to the young community.
The program "Sounds of the Great Mountains" was organized on December 3, 2022, at Van Lang University.
