Applying building standards to reduce water use

Applying building standards to reduce water use is a key solution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal for Clean Water and Sanitation. Văn Lang University is committed to implementing these standards to build a sustainable future with clean water and efficient water use.

When building new or renovating existing facilities, the University complies with building standards, while prioritizing the use of water efficiently and saving, including the use of advanced technologies and equipment to reduce the amount of water needed during construction and subsequent operation of the facility.

In addition, the University promotes the construction of rainwater collection systems and water-saving irrigation systems on campus. The University aims to use recycled water in buildings and reduce water consumption by using water-saving flush systems, smart faucets, and water-saving devices.

The University believes that applying building standards to reduce water use is an important step in creating a sustainable building environment and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to the implementation of the UN SDG 6 goal of ensuring access to clean and safe water for all. Văn Lang University is committed to continuing its efforts to build and maintain green buildings, use water efficiently, and protect water resources for the community and the environment.

The University's efforts to apply building standards to reduce water use have resulted in significant reductions in water consumption. For example, the University's new library, which was built in accordance with the highest building standards for water efficiency, uses 30% less water than a traditional library of the same size. The University's rainwater collection system collects an average of 1 million liters of rainwater per year, which is used to irrigate campus gardens and landscapes. Văn Lang University's commitment to sustainable water use is an example of how universities can lead the way in reducing water consumption and protecting water resources. The University's efforts are making a real difference in the lives of the people and communities it serves.
