Introduction

The Graphic Design major offered by Van Lang University offers a standard and an honors training program. Both programs are built with reasonable structure and sequence, to equip learners with sufficient knowledge, skills and discipline with the major.

The standard program focuses on developing professional knowledge and skills so that painters can design to meet the needs of customers and the market.

"LEARNING BY DOING" is a guide to the methodology of learning, teaching and evaluation of the Faculty of Arts & Design, aiming to provide an innovative academic environment to train globalized human resources today.

“Learning by doing” - Learning through practice

This is the core methodology of the major's training activities. Through the syllabus and the combination of lecture and demonstration teaching methods, we help students acquire, create, express and promote their abilities.

Learning methods

Organizing online classes using platforms such as Moodle, Zoom and MS Team in combination with traditional classes, we focus on teaching information technology skills and application software needed for the profession.

Evaluation methods

Evaluating through classroom/workshop/computer lab activities. Evaluating applied skills and knowledge in exercises (groups or individuals)/tests/examinations. Evaluating through essays, group presentations. Evaluating course projects.

Career Prospects

Graphic Design requires high creativity, as well as good aesthetics and understanding of design, communication and negotiation skills. Therefore, the labor market is always open to opportunities for people who are passionate about this industry. In the international market, the average salary of the designers based on experience tends to increase by year, specifically: for employees with less than 5 years of experience, the income will be about more than 800 million VND per year; for professionals with 5 to 10 years of experience, this number will increase to nearly a billion VND per year (according to Payscale).

Additional Information

The Honors Training Program in Graphic Design is designed on the basis of the Philosophy of Liberal Education, which provides learners with skills and thinking to explore and position themselves, adapting them to the new standards of the global integration context.

The training program is 100% English

50% – 70% of the program will be trained in English and more than 50% of the program will be associated with practical activities at enterprises. The expected outcome of IELTS 6.0, combined with the learning process in English, help students communicate and work in English proficiently.

Real-World Experience

Students have the opportunity to experience practical operations of enterprises through experiential activities such as Get ready to work, and internships at domestic and foreign enterprises.

Optimized training program

Class size: The class has 25 students in maximum, helping to focus on training students who have the potential to be excellent designers, and supporting students to maximize their learning capacity. Students can choose courses in their sub-majors to complement their primary one.
