Connective Tissue Harvesting Techniques

Palatal connective tissue grafts are an important source of graft in many prosthetic surgeries in periodontics and dental implant. This training course provides students with knowledge of the anatomy of the palatal mucosa to minimize surgical implications and different connective tissue harvesting techniques.

Students will practice on pig jaws to master surgical techniques and make clinical practice easier.

Describe anatomical and histological features of the palatal mucosa, explain the roles of connective tissues in periodontics and dental implant surgery, indicate connective tissue harvesting techniques, and explain the pros and cons of different connective tissue harvesting techniques.

Standard skill training

Perform connective tissue harvesting with triangular and trapezoidal flaps, perform connective tissue harvesting from the submucosa, and perform de-epithelialized connective tissue harvesting.
