East Asian Studies

East Asian Studies is an interdisciplinary area studies field focusing on the culture, society, history, geography, economics, politics, diplomacy, etc. of East Asian countries. This field mainly studies China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Southeast Asian nations.

Overview

The purpose of the East Asian Studies program is to provide students with comprehensive, in-depth knowledge about the East Asian region. Graduates will be capable of working in international enterprises and organizations operating in East Asian markets like Korea, China and Japan. At the same time, students can also work in various fields such as: diplomacy, tourism, education, foreign enterprises, media...

Undergraduate course

Teaching Language: Vietnamese

Training Duration: 4 years

Requirements: Based on the regulations of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.

Short courses for foreigners

Short courses on Vietnamese Language and Culture

Teaching Languages: Vietnamese, English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese.

Duration: Based on the needs of students (1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months…)

Key Features of the Curriculum

East Asian Studies is an interdisciplinary program integrating knowledge of languages, cultures and histories of East Asian countries. The program emphasizes developing research skills, professional skills and intercultural communication skills for students.

Regional Studies

The program focuses on teaching knowledge about the East Asian region, including: history, geography, culture, society, political economy, diplomacy...

Country Studies

In addition to regional knowledge, students will gain in-depth access to one country in Northeast Asia (country studies), including: China, Korea and Japan.

International Study and Internship Opportunities

During the course of study, students will have opportunities for exchange study or practical internships in one of the three aforementioned countries. This helps improve their skills.

Diverse Career Opportunities

After graduation, students will have various career choices in different fields and the ability to work in multicultural environments.

Program learning outcomes

After completing the training program, students will gain specialized knowledge in regional and country studies. At the same time, they will acquire necessary professional skills to meet the demands of enterprises in the East Asian region. Moreover, students will develop moral qualities and a spirit of lifelong learning in order to work independently in an international environment, becoming experts and managers contributing to building Vietnam and a peaceful world.
