On the morning of May 29, 2024, the Semi-Final round of the Ra Khoi 2024 competition, themed "Social Startup Shaping the Future," identified 8 outstanding teams that have overcome challenges to advance to the Final round on June 15th, 2024.
Dr. Nguyen Quynh Mai, Dean of the VLU Faculty of Business Administration and Head of the Competition Organizing Committee, shared that since 2020, Ra Khoi has made significant breakthroughs, exploring new themes each season, creating a dynamic, creative, and valuable competition for young entrepreneurs. In 2024, the program welcomed teams from various partner institutions, particularly from Hanoi.
The semi-finals featured reputable judges, including business leaders and experts in entrepreneurship, investment, and business development: CEO Le Nguyen Thanh An - Founder of NFQ Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Hoang Khanh Tien - Community Development Expert and Responsible Business Practice with 15 years of experience; Mr. Pham Hung Phong - Founder & CEO of Edunet Company, lecturer at the International University (National University), Viet Ho Diep Pharmaceutical Institute; Founder & CEO of Cyfeer Company; and MSc. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh - lecturer at VLU Faculty of Business Administration.
With the theme "Social Startup Shaping the Future," the projects within the Ra Khoi competition this year focused on social impact. Business ideas spanned various fields, from environmental protection and organic products to AI applications and software. Before the semi-finals, the teams had the opportunity to introduce their products and services to the community through the Poster Show and presentations on the Faculty of Business Administration’s Facebook page, allowing them to gather feedback and improve their projects.
The semi-finals featured two rounds: "Impression" and "Challenge." The 22 teams were divided into groups based on similar product or service offerings or those operating in the same field. Each team had two minutes to share and introduce their products and five minutes to answer questions from the judges, addressing challenges and hypothetical situations specific to each project.
The teams showcased their entrepreneurial spirit, confidence, and creativity in their presentations, from developing ideas and testing them with potential customers to refining their projects to meet market demands. With guidance from mentors, each project received meticulous attention from concept to packaging, design, and development plans.
Judge Le Nguyen Thanh An, CEO and Founder of NFQ Vietnam, praised the students: “I have participated in numerous entrepreneurship competitions and have observed that the quality of ideas presented in Ra Khoi 2024 has reached a level comparable to Southeast Asia. I am particularly impressed by the students' creativity. I hope they will maintain their passion and continue to compete in the challenging finals.”
The 8 teams advancing to the finals will continue working with their mentors, honing their skills to create a complete pitch deck and confidently seek startup investments. We wish them continued success, the realization of their potential, and the presentation of the most polished projects to captivate the judges and the audience at the Ra Khoi finals on June 15, 2024.
