In July 2024, a delegation of Van Lang University students from the Oriental Studies major (Chinese Studies) and the Chinese Language major embarked on a 20-day experiential learning trip to Central South University in Hunan (China).From July 7th to July 22nd, 2024, fourteen students from the Oriental Studies major (Chinese Studies) and the Chinese Language major of Van Lang University enjoyed an unforgettable summer at Central South University in Hunan Province, China.The 2024 International Student Summer Camp is a cultural and academic exchange program organized by Central South University, attracting students from various countries worldwide. VLU students have received full coverage for tuition, housing, transportation, and scheduled sightseeing due to their language proficiency.In July 2024, Van Lang University students participated in the 2024 International Student Summer Camp activities. No longer confined to theoretical knowledge, these students are now immersed in the unique Chinese culture through interactive activities with international friends. Under the guidance of Dr. Pham Dinh Tien, Head of the Chinese Studies department of the Oriental Studies major, and Dr. Ho Dac Quoc Anh, a lecturer of the Chinese Language major, along with and lecturers and students of Central South University, VLU students participated in meaningful activities: visiting historical and cultural sites in Hunan Province, attending specialized classes on Chinese language, culture, economy, and society led by Central South University professors, engaging in traditional crafts and cooking activities to gain deeper insights into Chinese culture, and meeting and interacting with international peers at the Summer Camp.The Vietnamese delegation representative, Thi Thi Tuyet Trinh, a student of Course 27 in the Chinese Language, expressed her honor and pride in participating in the meaningful 2024 International Student Summer Camp at Central South University. Tuyet Trinh stated, “This is a precious opportunity for us to learn knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and people. I believe the experiences here will help me and my peers grow, and become more confident in our academic journey and personal development.”During the trip, students had the opportunity to visit historical and cultural sites in Hunan Province, attend specialized and useful lectures, and engage in exchanges with international friends.Throughout the almost two-week summer camp, the students engaged in numerous unique Chinese cultural activities in addition to language instruction. The students were able to hand-wrap Jiaozi dumplings, make Chinese lanterns, experience wearing Chinese clothing, participate in a Chinese tea ceremony, and paint Peking opera masks.The student group not only participated in academic and cultural events but also got the chance to tour well-known locations in Hunan. The students had the opportunity to visit the Yuelu Library, which is the oldest library in China, tour the gorgeous Juzi Island, and take in the historical and spiritual beauty of the Huo Gong Dian Temple. They also got to see China's national treasure, the enormous panda. The ability to communicate ideas clearly, persuasively, and engagingly is considered a key to success in many areas of life. Recognizing the need for young people to hone their public speaking skills, on July 11, 2024, the 3N Club - NGHE NGHĨ NÓI (LISTEN THINK SPEAK) of Van Lang University organized the workshop “Public Speaking - The Art of Public Speaking,” featuring guest speakers from Saigon Tếu.VLU students put a great deal of effort into organizing the event. Students from the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications invested “heavily” in the scale of events both within and outside the university, leveraging their specialized strengths.“Học ăn, học nói, học gói, học mở" (Learning to eat, speak, wrap, and open). On July 11, 2024, VLU students had a practical lesson on the art of public speaking with esteemed guests from Saigon Tếu: Phương Nam, Stephen Turban, Minh Ti, host Uy Lê, and "boss" An Trương from the Xin Việc series, which has recently gained significant attention on social media. On July 19, 2024, Van Lang University will host the Conference Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of Immanuel Kant and the Age of Enlightenment: Human, Influence and Legacy, featuring the participation of professors, researchers, and experts in the field.The Age of Enlightenment, which lasted from the 17th to the end of the 18th century, played a particularly crucial role in human history. This period was when European thinkers strove to liberate humanity from the oppression of theocracy and feudalism while promoting freedom of thought and scientific understanding.The year 2024 marks a significant milestone in the history of philosophy and human culture: the 300th anniversary of the birth of Immanuel Kant, one of the greatest thinkers of the Enlightenment. Kant pioneered the German classical school of philosophy, creating the "Copernican revolution" of philosophy by becoming the first to break with previous metaphysical views and end the debate in the "metaphysical arena" of the time. Recognizing the need for young people to hone their public speaking skills, on July 11, 2024, the 3N Club - NGHE NGHĨ NÓI (LISTEN THINK SPEAK) of Van Lang University organized the workshop “Public Speaking - The Art of Public Speaking,” featuring guest speakers from Saigon Tếu.VLU students put a great deal of effort into organizing the event. Students from the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications invested “heavily” in the scale of events both within and outside the university, leveraging their specialized strengths.“Học ăn, học nói, học gói, học mở" (Learning to eat, speak, wrap, and open). On July 11, 2024, VLU students had a practical lesson on the art of public speaking with esteemed guests from Saigon Tếu: Phương Nam, Stephen Turban, Minh Ti, host Uy Lê, and "boss" An Trương from the Xin Việc series, which has recently gained significant attention on social media. This event was meticulously organized by the members of the 3N Club - NGHE NGHĨ NÓI (LISTEN THINK SPEAK) of Van Lang University, with careful preparation down to the smallest details.The guests from Saigon Tếu and the Xin Việc series provided many valuable lessons for VLU students in developing their public speaking skills.Originating from the “Art of Public Speaking” course for Course 29 of the Honors Program in Public Relations, and with the support of lecturers Ms. Đỗ Thị Thanh Trúc and Mr. Trần Quang Thiện, the students were connected with host Uy Lê. This connection helped fulfill their desire to expand this special class with the workshop “Public Speaking - The Art of Public Speaking.”The guests emphasized that public speaking is both “terrifying” and “worth learning.”Through the practical experiences shared by the speakers, VLU students gained new perspectives on how to handle different public speaking situations, suitable for various venues, audience sizes, and the speaker's mood. Beyond the pressure of the stage and the pressure to deliver a perfect speech, young people should cherish the somewhat “messy” experiences and develop the skills to turn these ordinary but genuine moments into stories that connect with the audience and convey meaningful messages about life.The insights from the speakers provided valuable resources to help Văn Lang students overcome their fear of sharing personal feelings and thoughts. They learned how to turn ordinary life stories into material that connects and conveys meaningful messages to those around them.In addition to lessons on effective public speaking, the workshop “Public Speaking - The Art of Public Speaking” offered Văn Lang students the opportunity to develop various skills and experience professional event organization. On July 19, 2024, Van Lang University will host the Conference Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of Immanuel Kant and the Age of Enlightenment: Human, Influence and Legacy, featuring the participation of professors, researchers, and experts in the field.The Age of Enlightenment, which lasted from the 17th to the end of the 18th century, played a particularly crucial role in human history. This period was when European thinkers strove to liberate humanity from the oppression of theocracy and feudalism while promoting freedom of thought and scientific understanding.The year 2024 marks a significant milestone in the history of philosophy and human culture: the 300th anniversary of the birth of Immanuel Kant, one of the greatest thinkers of the Enlightenment. Kant pioneered the German classical school of philosophy, creating the "Copernican revolution" of philosophy by becoming the first to break with previous metaphysical views and end the debate in the "metaphysical arena" of the time. By initiating "transcendental dialectic" and pointing out the paradoxes of pure reason, Kant opened a new path for the dialectical conception of thought and cognition, laying the foundation for the dialectical systems of Fichte, Schelling, Hegel, and Marx's dialectical materialism. Memorable Summer in Hunan (China) for Van Lang University Students

In July 2024, a delegation of Van Lang University students from the Oriental Studies major (Chinese Studies) and the Chinese Language major embarked on a 20-day experiential learning trip to Central South University in Hunan (China).From July 7th to July 22nd, 2024, fourteen students from the Oriental Studies major (Chinese Studies) and the Chinese Language major of Van Lang University enjoyed an unforgettable summer at Central South University in Hunan Province, China.The 2024 International Student Summer Camp is a cultural and academic exchange program organized by Central South University, attracting students from various countries worldwide. VLU students have received full coverage for tuition, housing, transportation, and scheduled sightseeing due to their language proficiency.In July 2024, Van Lang University students participated in the 2024 International Student Summer Camp activities. No longer confined to theoretical knowledge, these students are now immersed in the unique Chinese culture through interactive activities with international friends. Under the guidance of Dr. Pham Dinh Tien, Head of the Chinese Studies department of the Oriental Studies major, and Dr. Ho Dac Quoc Anh, a lecturer of the Chinese Language major, along with and lecturers and students of Central South University, VLU students participated in meaningful activities: visiting historical and cultural sites in Hunan Province, attending specialized classes on Chinese language, culture, economy, and society led by Central South University professors, engaging in traditional crafts and cooking activities to gain deeper insights into Chinese culture, and meeting and interacting with international peers at the Summer Camp.The Vietnamese delegation representative, Thi Thi Tuyet Trinh, a student of Course 27 in the Chinese Language, expressed her honor and pride in participating in the meaningful 2024 International Student Summer Camp at Central South University. Tuyet Trinh stated, “This is a precious opportunity for us to learn knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and people. I believe the experiences here will help me and my peers grow, and become more confident in our academic journey and personal development.”During the trip, students had the opportunity to visit historical and cultural sites in Hunan Province, attend specialized and useful lectures, and engage in exchanges with international friends.Throughout the almost two-week summer camp, the students engaged in numerous unique Chinese cultural activities in addition to language instruction. The students were able to hand-wrap Jiaozi dumplings, make Chinese lanterns, experience wearing Chinese clothing, participate in a Chinese tea ceremony, and paint Peking opera masks.The student group not only participated in academic and cultural events but also got the chance to tour well-known locations in Hunan. The students had the opportunity to visit the Yuelu Library, which is the oldest library in China, tour the gorgeous Juzi Island, and take in the historical and spiritual beauty of the Huo Gong Dian Temple. They also got to see China's national treasure, the enormous panda. These encounters not only increased their understanding of history and culture but also assisted them in unwinding following long study sessions.For Foreign Languages students - Humanities and Social Sciences, participating in exchange programs and cultural activities provides them with knowledge, experience, and motivation to further pursue their field of study.For students in the major Foreign Languages - Humanities and Social Sciences, the opportunity to experience the country they are studying and learning about will bring them many sources of inspiration. Short-term exchange semesters and summer camps with international friends will help students improve their foreign language skills, engage in cultural exchanges, acquire academic knowledge, and build their character and self-confidence.
