Altair Engineering Challenge 2025 – Technology competition for students organized by Van Lang Education Group

On April 2nd 2025, Institute for Computational Science & Artificial Intelligence (COSARI) – Van Lang University held the Award Ceremony for “Altair Engineering Challenge – VLG” 2025.

The “Altair Engineering Challenge – VLG” aims to discover young talents and select outstanding individuals to represent in the upcoming “Altair Global Student Contest” 2024–2025.

Dr. Vo Van Tuan – Standing Vice-President of Van Lang University, representing the Organizing Committee – affirmed that Altair Engineering Challenge is the first platform to connect all member units of Van Lang Education Group in the field of Engineering. This competition promises to open up multiple pathways aligned with current practical demands.

Dr. Vo Van Tuan highly appreciated the competition's ability to connect all member units of Van Lang Education Group in the field of engineering.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thoi Trung – Director of the Institute for Computational Science & Artificial Intelligence shared: “The competition has gone through two rounds, from the Kick-off round to the Final and received enthusiastic participation from students. The ‘Altair Engineering Challenge’ is not only a technology competition but also an arena of innovation, where contestants challenge themselves in design, engineering optimization and technology application using Altair Engineering’s advanced software”.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thoi Trung expressed his hope that the competition would help spread the spirit of scientific research throughout Van Lang ecosystem.

After a rigorous selection process, Organizing Committee honored the winning teams:

  • Champion: Tran Duc Huy and Bui Duc Nghia (Class 23, Faculty of Automotive Engineering, Binh Duong Economics and Technology University).
  • First Runner-up: Ta Cong Hoang Son (Class 23) and Pham Thanh Dung (Class 24) – Faculty of Automotive Engineering, Binh Duong Economics and Technology University).
  • Second Runner-up: Phung Cam Hong, Dang Vuong Dai, Tran Thanh Phat, Le Xuan Hoang, Nguyen Hong Hai, Nguyen Quoc Minh Tam – Faculty of Design Technology, Van Lang Saigon College.

Bui Duc Nghia, a third-year student (Class 23) from the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, Binh Duong Economics and Technology University, a member of the champion team, shared: “This award marks a significant milestone, affirming our team’s progress and innovation in engineering. We didn’t just aim for the top prize, we aspired to create an optimized lifting design powered by advanced technology. The project journey was full of challenges, from balancing performance, weight, and durability to optimizing materials while ensuring safety. These very difficulties motivated us to push through and perfect our solution. We hope it will be widely adopted, serve as a source of inspiration and contribute to solving real-world problems”.

“Altair Engineering Challenge - VLG” 2025 has encouraged students in the Engineering and Technology fields of Van Lang Education Group, enhancing their scientific research spirit, fostering design capabilities and nurturing the ability to apply technology in the fields of robotics and engineering, based on the modern platforms of Altair Engineering.
