Assoc. Prof. Dr. and Doctor Vu Quang Huy - Deputy Dean of VLU Faculty of Medicine, is appointed Chairman of the International Conference on Medical Laboratory Technology in Southeast Asia

The Association of Southeast Asian Medical Laboratory Technical Schools officially organized the annual International Conference on Medical Laboratory Technology in Southeast Asia, which took place from December 1–4, 2022, in Lombok, Indonesia. Van Lang University is honored to have Assoc. Pro. Dr. and Doctor Vu Quang Huy - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, to attend as Chairman of this international conference.

The International Conference on Medical Laboratory Technology in Southeast Asia is an internationally important event attended by many leading professors and experts in the field of Medical Testing in Southeast Asia. The event creates an open academic space, connecting scientists to exchange training topics for the Medical Laboratory Technology industry in Southeast Asia. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. and Doctor Vu Quang Huy, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Van Lang University, is the Chairman of the Association of Southeast Asian Medical Laboratory Technical Schools. He is also the former Director of the Test Calibration Center of the Ministry of Health at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and holds the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Medical Laboratory Technical Schools.

In November, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. and Doctor Vu Quang Huy participated in the GLLP (Global Laboratory Leadership Programme) initiated by the World Health Organization and US partners (CDC, APHL) in Vietnam; he also participated in the seminar organized by the Japan Association of Clinical Laboratory Science and Technology. These are the forward steps, bringing the image of the Medical Laboratory Technology industry, in particular and the Healthcare sector of Van Lang University in general to the international academic space, meeting and interacting with partners, prestigious authors and scientists in the region and the world. 

In the near future, Assoc. Prof. Dr. and Doctor Vu Quang Huy and the Board of Directors of Van Lang University and other units will coordinate to organize international projects and open a Testing Center, contributing to the full development of the Medical Laboratory Technology and Healthcare sectors at Van Lang University.

In October 2022, Van Lang University announced admission to Medicine major, enhancing the school's brand image in the field of healthcare training.  The foundation for Van Lang University in providing the first generation of medical doctors with a comprehensive education will be the most up-to-date invested facilities in Vietnam, along with lecturers and professional advisors holding numerous important positions in the medical management, training, and research system both domestically and internationally.

The Faculty of Medicine of Van Lang University was established in 2021. Until August 2022, the Faculty of Medicine has successfully recruited an elite teaching staff with 58 full-time and visiting lecturers, including 2 Professors, 5 Associate Professors, 24 Doctors, 3 Level 2 Specialists and 24 Masters. The teaching staff at Van Lang University graduated from prestigious domestic universities, being received training at prestigious universities in the world and many famous names have made valuable contributions in the medical world.
