On the morning of Monday, October 7, 2024, lecturers from Van Lang University conducted a career orientation seminar for over 600 middle and high school students from Tri Duc Secondary and High School at Campus 1, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Through relatable and practical examples, Mr. Bao Tuan helped students gain a clearer understanding of the Architecture major, emphasizing its significance, practical applications in daily life, and its connection to regional and national cultural identity.
With his humor and wit, Dr. Ho Nam made the seemingly dry subject of construction lively and even “romantic”. He highlighted the collaboration between Architecture and Civil Engineering, the field’s impact on family and societal development, job opportunities, work environments, and future income prospects.
Maintaining a strong focus on practical career orientation for students' future decisions, VLU’s seminars at high schools concentrate on professional insights within various fields, expanding students’ understanding of current career landscapes and prospects. Tri Duc students showed great interest in both lectures, eagerly asking questions about Architecture, Civil Engineering, and the academic environment at VLU.
Career orientation is a long journey, one that requires students to actively explore and research. Opportunities to directly meet university lecturers and experts can shorten this path to understanding majors and choosing a career. Van Lang University looks forward to meeting students from other high schools in exciting admissions activities throughout 2024!
