On February 09, 2023, the Faculty of Information Technology of Van Lang University hosted a seminar on "Career and jobs opportunities in the domestic and international market", connecting 02 prestigious enterprises in the field with nearly 300 students from Course 25, 26.
To help students gain access to internship and employment opportunities in prestigious domestic and international businesses, The Faculty of Information Technology at Van Lang University collaborated with Urban Corporation and AroraTech Company to host a career seminar with face-to-face interviews for undergraduate students from Information Technology major. The seminar was attended by Dr. Bui Minh Phung - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Mr. Tanoue Kaito - CEO of Urban Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phat - CIO of AuroraTech Company, as well as instructors and students from the Faculty of Information Technology at Van Lang University.
In his opening speech, Dr. Bui Minh Phung, Vice Dean of the Information Technology Faculty at Van Lang University, underlined the significance of internships and practical work experience for students, particularly those in the technology group. This is the stepping stone that will help the students to better envision the road they will take in the future, discover a suitable employment position, and for those with exceptional performance, the internship unit may become a place to launch their career. According to Dr. Bui Minh Phung, students must pay close attention to and invest heavily in their CVs in order to locate a job environment that matches their skills and career goals.
During the seminar, students listened intently to the insights of business guests, gaining an overview of the internship process and career prospects for programmers and technicians in the field of information technology. With hands-on experiences in studying and working in a professional environment, the guests helped Van Lang students complete an overview of current information technology trends, and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of Vietnamese programmers and technicians in the international market. By posing the open-ended question “Are Vietnamese employees truly superior to foreign employees and deserving of a higher salary?”, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phat - CIO of Aurora Tech has enabled students to express their personal opinions and clearly understand the requirement of a non-stop learning process to keep up with the pace of technology and global modernization, especially for those who love and are determined to stick with this field.
Following the seminar, the Information Technology Faculty of Van Lang University arranged for the students to attend face-to-face interviews with employers. Quach Ngoc Nhien, a student enrolled in Course 26 of the Information Technology major, reported that the interview environment was warm and inviting. The majority of participants had a certain level of preparation for their CVs, having researched the company and the position applied for. Nguyen Quoc An, one of the students participating in the seminar would like to send his gratitude to the Faculty of Information Technology for providing him with the opportunity to interact with large corporations, gain a great deal of useful knowledge, and many valuable lessons in the IT field.
