Celebrating 75 Years of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students: Honoring Timeless Values

On the morning of January 8, 2025, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2025), Vietnam National Union of Students of Van Lang University organized a Membership Induction Ceremony and an exchange with historical witnesses.

The Vietnam National Union of Students is a socio-political organization representing students nationwide. With the slogan "Vietnamese Students – Courageous, Learning, Creative, Volunteer, Integrated," the Association has launched many significant movements, such as the “Student with 5 Goods", the "University Entrance Exam Support Program", and the "Green Summer – Summer Volunteer" Campaign, affirming the vital role of youth in the country's development.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of two historical witnesses who shared vivid memories of the vibrant student movements during the resistance against the U.S: Mr. Hoang Don Nhat Tan, former Standing Committee Member, Head of the Propaganda Committee of the City Youth Union, and Deputy Head of the City Youth Union’s Traditional Club; and Mr. Lam Van Tiep, former Standing Committee Member, Head of the City Youth Union’s Street Youth Committee, and a member of the Traditional Club's Leadership Team.

Mr. Lam Van Tiep emotionally shared memories of his revolutionary activities during challenging times at City Youth Union resistance bases, emphasizing that resilience and determination were the key factors that enabled him and his comrades to overcome all difficulties. He expressed his belief that today's young generation would carry forward this spirit, successfully fulfilling their mission for the nation with remarkable perseverance and strength.

The Membership Induction Ceremony and the Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students concluded in an atmosphere of solemnity, emotion, and pride. With invaluable historical lessons and heartfelt messages from the previous generation, Van Lang students are inspired to uphold the glorious tradition, continuously striving in their studies, training, and contributions of their youthful energy and intellect to build a prosperous and civilized nation.
