Convocation Ceremony of the first Master’s program in Digital Business and Management with Liverpool John Moores University (UK)

On November 18, 2023, in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, VLU's International Education Institute organized the Convocation Ceremony for the first-ever international collaborative Master’s program in Digital Business and Management in Vietnam.

The ceremony was solemnly held in the presence of representatives from the two parties: Dr. Tom Fletcher, Programme Leader of the Sports Business, Tourism Management, and Events Management (LJMU), Dr. Laura Dixon, Lecturer of the Event Management program (LJMU), and Dr. Linda Walsh, Learning Consultant of the event management program (LJMU), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, and Dr. Ngo Quang Trung, Vice President of Van Lang University and Director of the International Education Institute.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, gave a welcome speech for the first course of the Master’s in Digital Business and Management.

At the convocation ceremony, Assoc, Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University said: "In March 2021, Van Lang University and Liverpool John Moores University started a collaboration  for an international bachelor's program. This ceremony marks another significant milestone in the two parties' cooperative relationship. I hope that the first students of this program will embark on a new journey with passion, seizing the opportunity to open the door to knowledge, shape the future, and apply what they learn to create positive values for the community.”

Dr. Ngo Quang Trung, VLU’s Vice President and Director of the International Education Institute in charge of the international program, emphasized the Institute's educational philosophy of "Knowledge-Experience-Betterment," reaffirming the university’s commitment to providing high-quality international curriculum, aiding students in becoming better versions of themselves, and making a positive impact on society; this is also the motto of Van Lang University: "where impact matters"

Dr. Tom Fletcher, Programme Leader of the Sports Business, Tourism Management, and Events Management at Liverpool John Moores University, commended VLU's development and expressed hope for the success of the first students with the support from both parties.

Not only is it a milestone at the beginning of a new academic year, but the event also connects students with expert Nguyen Chi Binh, Training General Manager, Asia Region, Caterpillar Asia Pacific, to discuss and update useful information on the topic "Business development in the digital era." Previously, VLU's International Education Institute organized a series of seven in-depth workshops led by reputable experts to provide students with basic knowledge on how to write essays, scientific research methods, data collection skills, and basic concepts in digital marketing.
