On April 20, 2025, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing's time-honored music festival, “Diamante,” made its official return under the thematic banner of “The Flow of Time.” This event commemorated the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment and progression of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing – a significant and proud trajectory for the Faculty and Van Lang University alike.
Amidst the dignified ambiance of the proceedings, Dr. Mai Binh Duong, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing at Van Lang University, expressed with emotion: “The three-decade-long endeavor marked by unwavering dedication has culminated in numerous commendable accomplishments for the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing in cultivating a cadre of proficient educators and students. Over these thirty years, the Faculty has been the recipient of considerable attention and direction from the University's administration, coupled with the ardent support of its collaborators and alumni. Driven by the mandate to nurture cohorts of students who are not merely academically adept but also possess fortitude, accountability, and creativity, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing has been proactively deploying an application-focused and research-driven curriculum aimed at community service and global engagement. It is our aspiration that the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing will persist in fostering its esteemed traditions and uphold its standing as a nucleus for the development of high-caliber human capital, thereby addressing the demands of society."
The precursor to the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing was the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, founded in 1995, an integral part of Van Lang University's establishment and growth narrative. The Faculty's board consists of committed academics who invariably place the elevation of educational standards at the forefront. In the year 2009, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting underwent a bifurcation, resulting in the creation of two distinct faculties. Subsequently, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing has persevered in its mandate to cultivate talent for the accounting sector.
With the aim of fostering academic enthusiasm and recognizing the meritorious contributions of its students, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing conferred accolades upon exemplary Youth Union and Student Association officials, alongside Five Good Students at the Faculty level. Furthermore, the Faculty bestowed 10 Academic Excellence Scholarships to commend and provide impetus to students demonstrating exceptional performance. This serves not merely as a deserved recompense for individual endeavors but also as a testament to the Faculty's commitment to its student body – the successors in the ongoing pursuit of “reaching greater heights.”
Bui Nguyen My Phuong, the Exemplary Student of the 2023-2024 academic year and the delegate for the educational excursion to Hung Temple (Phu Tho), conveyed her profound appreciation to the faculty: “Given their unwavering commitment to instruction and consistent mentorship of students throughout their academic journey, I am deeply honored by their trust in selecting me as the representative for the study visit to Hung Temple (Phu Tho). This presents not only an invaluable opportunity to deepen my understanding of the nation's founding and safeguarding but also a platform to hone essential skills, thereby fostering a greater appreciation for the responsibilities of a model student. I shall forever cherish these significant experiences and persist in my endeavors to merit the confidence and aspirations of my lecturers, family, and peers."
Featuring two meticulously curated segments, the Ceremony and the Festival, students were afforded the chance to engross themselves in remarkable artistic presentations set to stirring rhythms that galvanized national identity. In the lead-up to the 50th commemoration of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the entire auditorium was resplendent in the crimson of the national flag, fluttering in unison with each reverberating heroic tune.
The musical gala comprised a sequence of emotionally resonant performances and musical theater productions meticulously orchestrated by the student body. Significantly, the ambiance was further enlivened by the presence of a renowned illusionist and a raffle with prizes, which garnered considerable enthusiasm from both students and faculty. The occasion facilitated interaction and networking among current students and alumni, culminating in a comprehensive musical experience characterized by an elevated artistic milieu and a spirit of communal solidarity.
Diamante 2025 drew to a close, leaving a tapestry of emotions and signifying a pivotal juncture in the three-decade-long trajectory of foundation and growth of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing. Leveraging its established traditions and intrinsic capabilities, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing at Van Lang University will resolutely progress, cultivating successive cohorts of knowledgeable individuals and constructing an enduring future.
