On January 2, 2025, Van Lang University proudly welcomed Prof. Ha Bui – Professor of Geotechnical Engineering and Head of the Civil Engineering Department of Monash University (Australia). Both parties exchanged experiences in research, training, and development direction to create a solid foundation for realizing common goals.
Prof. Ha Bui - Head of the Civil Engineering Department at Monash University, affirmed that Monash University is one of the leading universities in Australia, excelling in many fields, especially in Civil Engineering and Environment, with 7 majors and 6 key research areas. The professor also emphasized that the university continuously collaborates with top businesses to expand internship opportunities, thereby enhancing students' capabilities and real-world experiences.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Nguyen Quoc Bao – Vice President of Van Lang University and President of VLU Technology School VLTech, proposed to collaborate on organizing student and faculty exchange programs between the two universities and conducting training and research that meets international standards.
With the goal of building an internationally-oriented learning environment for students, the faculty members of Van Lang University have developed plans to enhance cooperation between the university and international institutions.
At the same time, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tung – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, expressed the desire to establish a long-term cooperative relationship with Monash University, focusing on application-oriented training, promoting scientific research, and linking postgraduate training.
Prof. Ha Bui's visit has opened up potential cooperation opportunities between the two universities, facilitating the exchange of valuable knowledge and experiences in education and research, contributing to the sustainable development of the Engineering and Environment sectors in the future.
