Faculty of Pharmacy Organized Meaningful Programs for the Visually Impaired and Students in Lam Dong Province

On November 30, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University organized two impactful community programs, bringing joy and practical support to the local visually impaired and students in Don Duong District, Lam Dong Province.

In the morning, the Faculty of Pharmacy conducted an educational program “Adolescent Psychological Education and Smart Social Media Usage” for over 600 students at Ka Don Secondary School, Don Duong District.

Lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy interacted with the students about adolescent psychology and how to use social media wisely.

Ms. Do Thanh Hao, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy, shared accessible knowledge about gender and reproductive health, enhancing students' understanding of self-care and protection. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers, Ms. Trinh Thi Quyen and Ms. Chau Thuy Vi, also provided important knowledge and tips on using social media, helping students enhance civilized and safe social media, contributing to shaping a healthy lifestyle.

The Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers presented gifts to students in difficult circumstances, bringing them joy and hope.

The Faculty of Pharmacy presented 170 gifts, including notebooks, pens, children’s syrup, and cash to students in difficult circumstances. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Huong, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, received a Certificate of Gratitude on behalf of the delegation and expressed hope that the program would motivate the students to strive for excellence in their studies.

The program “Gathering with the Association of the Visually Impaired in Don Duong District, Lam Dong Province”, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, aims to provide support and share the love with the visually impaired community.

In the afternoon, the Faculty of Pharmacy also organized a social gathering and gift-giving event for the visually impaired community in Don Duong District, Lam Dong Province. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Huong, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasized at the event that this was an opportunity for the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University to meet, engage, and present meaningful gifts to the community, aiming to provide support to the visually impaired people in Don Duong District.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Huong, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, received a Certificate of Gratitude on behalf of the Faculty from the Association of the Visually Impaired in Don Duong District.

During the gathering, the Faculty of Pharmacy presented 50 gifts containing essential items such as rice, cooking oil, soy sauce, ointment, masks, and cash to the visually impaired community. Despite the cool weather in Don Duong, the performances by the lecturers and staff from the Faculty of Pharmacy created a warm and inviting atmosphere at the gathering.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chin, Chairman of the Association of the Visually Impaired in Don Duong district, extended heartfelt thanks to Van Lang University Faculty of Pharmacy for the heartwarming event and generous gifts. He presented a Certificate of Appreciation as a token of their gratitude.

These are meaningful community activities organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program also aims to spread the spirit and enhance Van Lang University’s reputation, especially in community service.
