Graduation Project Defense Ceremony of Construction Management and Civil Engineering students of Class 26

On December 26 and 27, 2024, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Van Lang University held a Graduation Project Defense Ceremony for 02 majors: Civil Engineering and Construction Management. This is not only an opportunity to summarize the learning process and accumulate knowledge of students, but also marks the beginning of a new journey full of challenges and opportunities in the career of new Engineers in Civil Engineering and Construction Management.

During the project defense, the students took turns presenting their personal projects, demonstrating solid professional knowledge and the ability to respond flexibly to critical questions from the Council. The Examination Council highly appreciated the creativity of this year's students, demonstrated through unique, diverse and practical projects.

Highly appreciating the capacity of the Construction students of Class 26, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, Deputy Dean, Head of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Van Lang University said: “A bright spot in this year's graduation project is that students have proactively updated and applied the latest load standards issued by the Government. This shows the students' efforts to research, learn and update their knowledge.”

The project "Construction management of An Duong Vuong - Lao Cai Apartment Building" by student Tran Quang Anh excellently achieved the highest score of the Construction Management major with 8.2. The project was highly appreciated for its promising research and development orientation in the future, clarifying the important role of management and construction in promoting the urbanization and modernization of the country.

Quang Anh expressed his gratitude to MSc. Nguyen Phi Khanh, Lecturer of the Faculty of Civil Engineering: “The teacher guided me very closely, always urged me to do my homework and met me weekly to point out errors that needed to be corrected. I was able to complete this project thanks largely to his guidance and supervision.”

In the field of Construction Engineering, student Nguyen Duc Tien excellently achieved the title of Valedictorian of the graduation project with a score of 8.7 for the topic “Design of An Duong Vuong Apartment Building”. The topic focused on analyzing load-bearing structures as well as proposing solutions to enhance the earthquake resistance of the project, receiving many compliments from the council. Duc Tien shared: "When I found out that I was the Valedictorian of my graduation project, I was very surprised and touched. I felt happy, proud and deeply grateful to my teachers and friends who have always accompanied and supported me throughout this journey."

As the only female student at the Graduation Project Defense Ceremony, student Ly Xuan Tho and her project "Design of Hoan Pho Apartment Building in District 2" left a deep impression on the Chairman of the Examination Board 1 of the Civil Engineering major. Xuan Tho happily expressed that successfully defending her project is a great source of pride for her, a "sweet fruit" for her efforts and passion in a field where women do not account for a large proportion.
