For Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Tu Van - the lecturer who has been closely connected both as student and lecturer  with Van Lang University, the shared home at Faculty of Finance & Banking is not only a place for learning and working but also a nurturing ground for the heart and intellect of a passionate and dedicated teacher.

Starting as a student in the Faculty of Finance and Accounting (predecessor of the Faculty of Finance & Banking), after four years of impressive academic achievements and active participation in student activities, Ms. Tu Van has been recruited as a lecturer in the Faculty since 2009. Though nearly 20 years may not be an extensive period, it has been sufficient for her to consider this place as her second home where she imparts knowledge, shares experiences, and fosters connections among multiple generations of students.

"Ms. Tu Van is truly a great source of motivation for other educators in the pedagogical environment. She consistently demonstrates enthusiasm through her teaching and provides dedicated support to colleagues and professional teams. Always willing to share knowledge and experiences, she fosters a positive working atmosphere and mutual assistance. More importantly, she has a special dedication to students. Her profound care for students goes beyond the confines of teaching and extends to the personal development of each person. This creates a positive and cohesive learning environment, where every student she teaches feels valued and encouraged. With the unwavering dedication, Ms Tu Van will undoubtedly contribute even more to the continuous development of Faculty of Finance & Banking in particular and Van Lang University in general." These are the words shared by a young colleague at Faculty of Finance & Banking, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuc. Indeed, Phuc's comments highlight that Ms. Tu Van is playing a crucial role in connecting with the Alumni Liaison Committee. Recently, the Alumni Liaison Committee has been at the forefront of various activities within the Faculty, such as organizing sharing sessions on academic and professional experiences, participating in community activities, and volunteering at the department.

She also takes the lead in connecting students with businesses to help them find internship opportunities and gain practical experience. With each internship session, she acts as a familiar hotline for students seeking advice, support, and introductions to suitable entities such as corporate blocks, and well-known banks like TPBank, Sacombank, Eximbank, etc. Recently, she has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the Honor Program of the Faculty and consistently excels in the role of connecting with students from their early days at the university. It can be said that she has always performed excellently in the assigned tasks, even in the face of various challenges. She has become a familiar figure in addressing the queries of students due to her close relationship with this second home. Moreover, the younger faculty members, who are new to the Faculty, always receive enthusiastic support from her, ranging from guiding on regulations to the methods of work, from teaching to other responsibilities such as academic advising and other various tasks.

There is a special term that students often use to address her, and that is "Mom" – an endearing term that itself reflects the students' sentiments towards her in their work. Nguyen Viet Cuong, a fourth-year student majoring in Factulty of Finance & Banking, shared the following about her: "Mom Tu Van is someone who always loves her students, takes responsibility for her work, and is always enthusiastic in every lecture. Mom Tu Van is very dedicated to her profession, understands and grasps the psychology of students. Moreover, Mom is very friendly, lovely, always providing valuable advice for both academic and professional matters."

Indeed, the contributions of Ms. Tu Van to the Faculty of Finance & Banking can not be measured solely by numbers but should be felt through the emotions she receives from her students. From the values that have been spread to students over 15 years, it is hoped that Tu Van will continue to maintain her passion and enthusiasm for the profession, continuing to dedicate herself and connect, ensure that the home of Faculty of Finance & Banking is always filled with love, sharing, and a spirit of unity across generations. Wishing her even more success in her career of sowing seeds and nurturing individuals!
