"Pioneering Technology, Shaping the Future" with Class 30 of the Faculty of Information Technology

Marking the beginning of their academic journey, Course 30 of Faculty of Information Technology students at Van Lang University attended an Orientation Ceremony on November 1st, 2024. The event, themed "PIONEERING TECHNOLOGY, SHAPING THE FUTURE" provided students with a clear understanding of their future studies, career paths, and the opportunities that await them.

Emphasizing the importance of aligning the curriculum with the rapid advancement of AI, Dr. Hoang Le Minh, Director of the Center for Applied Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Advisor to the President of Van Lang University, asserted that students of the faculty will be immersed in a learning environment closely tied to the evolution of technological applications. This is a key focus of the Faculty and the University in education, application, and research, particularly in the field of education.

Dr. Bui Minh Phung, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, shared with students about the curriculum framework and provided valuable advice on designing a personalized learning path for the next four years.

With over 40 years of experience in research, development, and application of advanced technology in the semiconductor field, Dr. Nguyen Bich Yen, a renowned expert at the US Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a senior expert at SOITEC (USA), as well as a senior advisor at Van Lang University, shared her insights and inspired the 30th cohort of students. To recognize and encourage the spirit of overcoming challenges, the Faculty Board, in collaboration with partners and alumni, awarded scholarships totaling 55 million VND to high-achieving students.

The highlight of the event was the "passing the torch" ceremony, where seniors symbolically handed over the traditional torch to the freshmen, igniting their aspirations and dreams as aspiring IT professionals.

A seminar featuring Mr. Le Trong Hung, CEO of NamiQ AI; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh Dat, CEO of GUVI Technology Solutions Company; and Dr. Bui Minh Phung, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, addressed students' concerns about the future of the IT industry. Experts emphasized the importance of developing a positive attitude, strong communication and problem-solving skills, proficiency in foreign languages, and effective teamwork.

The event concluded with a heartwarming activity where the incoming K30 IT students wrote down their aspirations on a "wishing tree".
