On December 28, 2024, the Institute of Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence (COSARI) at Van Lang University organized a workshop on practicing with the software "Altair AI Studio - RapidMiner." The program focused on applying AI in analyzing and modeling image data and signal oscillation to enhance the quality of education for the university's lecturers and researchers.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thoi Trung, Director of the Institute of Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence, emphasized: “Popular AI tools like ChatGPT now have the capability to process both image and audio data, not just text data. This is crucial for updating new trends and helping lecturers and researchers improve their AI application skills in research and teaching.”
Dr. Nguyen Trang Thao, Head of the AI Lab at COSARI, systematized important theoretical knowledge related to the topic, including image classification, signal oscillation, and auto-encoder models for fault diagnosis through signals.
During the event, participants practiced classifying lung X-ray images for disease diagnosis by building and solving image data with RapidMiner software and CNN models, designing models to classify asphalt pump problems based on sensors, and applying time-series acceleration signal analysis techniques and feature extraction to diagnose abnormalities in a short time.
By the end of the workshop, lecturers and researchers had mastered advanced AI tools and techniques, supporting their teaching and enhancing their scientific research abilities. The event marked a step forward in improving the quality of education at Van Lang University, affirming the university's commitment to applying modern technology in education and research.
