QS Rankings 2025: Van Lang University Ranked Among Asia's Top 491-500 Universities

Today, on November 6, 2024, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the Asia University Rankings 2025, evaluating over 985 universities across Asia, including 17 from Vietnam. This year, Van Lang University achieved a significant milestone, ranking among the top 491-500 universities in Asia and securing the 86th position in Southeast Asia, marking a remarkable improvement over our 2024 ranking.

The 2025 QS Rankings reflect Van Lang University’s steadfast efforts to establish our brand and align our educational quality with international standards. The University has shown exceptional progress in 2025, particularly in terms of brand reputation and international collaboration.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is one of the world’s three most respected university-ranking organizations. QS’s rankings are based on 11 indicators: academic and employer reputation (30% and 20%), lecturer-to-student ratio (10%), lecturers with PhDs (5%), research papers per lecturer (5%), citation rate per research paper (10%), international research network (10%), international lecturer ratio (2.5%), and international student ratio (2.5%).

In 2025, QS recognized Van Lang University for our strong growth in developing partnerships, an increasing number of international exchange students, and our brand reputation. These accomplishments align with the University's commitment to enhancing a global learning environment for students, fostering international collaboration in education and research, and building a respected brand based on quality education and a comprehensive development experience for learners.

In recent years, Van Lang University has made continuous strides toward becoming an internationally recognized university known for our quality. The University has actively built an international network and demonstrated a strong commitment to quality assurance. By 2025, Van Lang University has nearly 200 international partners across 25 countries on four continents, including prestigious strategic partners among the top universities in Asia and worldwide.

Van Lang University has signed an MOU with the National University of Singapore (NUS). 

Through open and globally oriented learning environment, Van Lang University students have access to international experiences, and the number of international students coming to Van Lang University continues to grow each year. QS recognized the University's significant increase in international exchange students, surpassing the regional average. In the 2023-2024 academic year, more than 1,100 international students from 25 countries studied and engaged in activities at Van Lang University. Additionally, over 200 Van Lang University students participated in studies, internships, and short-term exchanges at international universities. More than 300 international lecturers from Asia, the Americas, and Europe are currently teaching at Van Lang University.

Van Lang University adheres firmly to our educational philosophy of learning through experience, aiming to nurture well-rounded, ethical, lifelong learners who make a positive impact and inspire society. In 2024, modern learning facilities at our campuses supported vibrant academic, cultural, artistic, and sports activities, with over 800 events connecting an ever-growing student community.

Notably, students from Newcastle University—ranked among the top 173 universities globally by the QS World University Rankings 2024—visited Van Lang University’s Dentistry practice facilities for an educational exchange.

Van Lang University stands as one of only 11 higher education institutions in Vietnam to have achieved international quality accreditation. In 2024, Van Lang University became the first private university in Vietnam to earn the European-standard FIBAA accreditation, meeting 100% of quality criteria, with nearly 50% of these criteria exceeding the required standards and two criteria recognized as outstanding.

Van Lang University received FIBAA Quality Accreditation in October 2024.

At the program level, Van Lang University currently has six programs accredited by the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), along with three postgraduate programs and 23 undergraduate programs accredited according to national standards. All of Van Lang University's programs are benchmarked against those of globally respected universities ranked in the top 100-300, with the goal of creating a comprehensive development experience for learners.
