Following a cooperation agreement signed in May 2023, the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG) in collaboration with UBTECH Vietnam, the Artificial Intelligence Center (AI Center), and Van Lang University, brings the first AI arena in Vietnam using humanoid robots to the VLU community.
ROBO G 2024 is a playground that encourages creativity and innovation in teaching methods for Vietnamese students. At ROBO G, the contestants will be divided into groups A, B, C, and C++ by age group from 07 to 23 years old, equipped with UBTECH's AI Robotics kits to apply, creatively design AI Robotics models, and conquer the challenge of programming AI robots to complete field tasks. This year, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - Electrical Engineering and Computing of VLU is expected to participate in the competition with 3 teams.
Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, Rector of Van Lang University, highlighted the event's significance in incorporating technology into education, fostering human resource development, and addressing social issues: “The ROBO G 2024 Design Competition is a special program for students passionate about technology and engineering. It is a challenge as well as an experience that unites the academic community to nurture and ignite remarkable ideas and establish new principles. I hope the competition will find a Vietnamese representative team with breakthrough solutions, actively spreading the image of the country, people, and Vietnamese intelligence to international friends.”
MS. Nguyen Thi Kim Huong - Director of UBTECH Vietnam Company, said that the goal of the competition is to find young talents with a passion for science and technology. This is an opportunity for teams to access and practice technology, train their logical thinking, and enhance their teamwork skills.
Van Lang's first AI arena has sparked excitement in the community. Students have a thrilling opportunity to jump in, test their mettle, and propel their personal growth. This electrifying initiative also underscores VLU's unwavering commitment to forging stronger ties with tech companies. By providing students with access to and the ability to apply cutting-edge technology, the competition paves the way for them to expand their learning horizons, elevate their experiences, and create real-world value.
The ROBO G 2024 Robot Design Contest with the theme "AI Exploration" will be accepting applications until June 30, 2024. The preliminary round will end on August 1, 2024, and the national final will take place on August 25, 2024. The event will culminate in the world finals, scheduled to be held in Shenzhen, China, in November 2024.
