Sharing experiences in preparing an application to qualify for the standards of Associate Professor
On January 24, 2024, the Faculty of Finance - Banking coordinated with the Training and Development Center to organize a guidance session, sharing experiences in preparing applications to qualify the standards for the Associate Professor title. The session provided Van Lang University professors with valuable information on the procedures and crucial steps involved in the Associate Professor application.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Thi My Dieu, the President of Van Lang University shared "The titles of Professor/Associate Professor are not only prestigious honors but also affirm the role of educators in the field of education. More than anyone else, lecturers are guides, sources of motivation, and inspirations for the generations of students and researchers at Van Lang University. Hopefully after this sharing session, the lecturers will be well-prepared for the Associate Professor title recognition process, thus continuing their mission of connecting and inspiring students."
During the sharing session, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tien, a member of the Professor Council in the Economics field for the period 2019-2023, and the author of the book "Fundamental of International Finance" published by the prestigious global publisher- Peter Lang, presented crucial information regarding the standards for the Professor/Associate Professor titles. This included the scoring mechanism and the necessary steps for preparing the application dossier.
By sharing experiences from his own professional journey, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tien facilitated a comfortable environment for lecturers to connect and engage in amicable discussions. This included posing questions and deliberating on issues related to the evaluation of academic portfolios, such as work experience, research projects both domestically and internationally, and guidance on suitable areas of emphasis for evaluation.
The guidance session and experience-sharing provided valuable information, aiding lecturers in preparation orientation, knowledge accumulation, and practical initiation of the application process for the Professor/Associate Professor titles. This contribution plays a role in elevating the quality of the personnel and the overall training standards at Van Lang University.
| Previously, after the 12th meeting of the State Professor Council for the term 2018-2023 in November 2023, the State Professor Council officially recognized 630 educators who met the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor. Van Lang University is honored to have three additional associate professors currently working and teaching in various academic fields: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Thuong Luu in the field of Dynamics, Associate Professor Dr. Do Thi Thuy Trang in Philosophy, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phan Duy in Engineering. |
