On March 1, 2023, the Faculty of Commerce hosted a "Start-up - An Investor's Perspective" seminar, connecting students to Dr. Nguyen Phi Long, a strategic consultant and expert in brand positioning, to explore his experiences with the start-up process.

The event has the participation of Dr. Nguyen Phi Long, CFO of Essential Management Corp. and CIO of En Pointe Group; MSc. Nguyen Thi Di Anh, Deputy Head of the Department of Business and Commerce; lecturer and student from the Faculty of Commerce.

The seminar attracted more than 100 students from the Faculty of Commerce, Van Lang University.

Dr. Nguyen Phi Long mentioned that entrepreneurship was a well-liked idea. Young people nowadays often decide to establish a business to be independent in their employment, take control of their lives, and demonstrate their bravery. They tend to have a dynamic, self-assured attitude and the courage to tackle problems. Establishing a business is not a simple journey. Many individuals are successful in their endeavors, but there are also ever more losses, failures, and critical lessons acquired along the way. He shared, “Today, we talk about startup success stories, but what is the key to success? Many recent grads still struggle with confusion when they begin to create ideas or transform ideas into reality. We need to develop the habit of planning for the future of our company from the viewpoint of entrepreneurs.”

Dr. Nguyen Phi Long - CFO Essential Management Corp, CIO En Pointe Group shared about his career story to bring practical lessons to Van Lang students.

Dr. Nguyen Phi Long mentioned that a successful project or successful enterprise involves strict coordination between several stakeholders and criteria. School educates students knowledge, but the discovery, learning, and practical experience can help them become keen and resourceful people. He also provided Van Lang students with helpful real-world teachings, numerous creative techniques, and training in business thinking to solve management challenges and utilize the best resources when they want to apply for a job.

The seminar provided practical lessons for Van Lang students.

Classes or seminars accompanying partners, businesses, and experts are significant activities of Van Lang University's Business and Management training program. We hope that students will gain inspiration for their profession via these activities.
