Students of Course 25, majoring in English Foreign Language at Van Lang University defend their graduation thesis

On May 23, 2023, at campus 1, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Van Lang University successfully organized the defense of the Graduation Thesis for students of Course 25, with the participation of 5 evaluation boards and 41 Faculty of English Language students.
Implementation of the graduation thesis is a typical research activity for students who have achieved good academic results of the bachelor's degree program at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, in order to create opportunities for students to improve the knowledge and skills that the school has equipped them and promote their own strengths, creating a premise for in-depth scientific research in the future.

In 2023, students of Course 25 of English Language major have 41 topics to participate in defending their graduation thesis

Sau hơn 6 tháng lên đề tài, tiến hành khảo sát lấy ý kiến các đối tượng liên quan, làm việc với giảng viên hướng dẫn, sinh viên Khóa 25 đã tự tin trình bày nghiên cứu của mình trước hội đồng bảo vệ khóa luận. Nhiều sinh viên khóa sau của ngành cũng đến tham dự để học tập kinh nghiệm và ủng hộ các anh chị.

After more than 6 months of developing the topic, conducting a survey to get opinions of the relevant subjects, and working with the supervisors, the students of Course 25 confidently presented their research in front of the thesis defense committee. Many newer students of the major also attended to learn from and support their seniors.
During the opening session, Dr. Phan The Hung - Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Van Lang University gave a speech to encourage, encourage and congratulate the 25th class students for overcoming difficulties during the course of the thesis. He shared: “Scientific research is a special activity that helps students practice critical thinking and opens up more opportunities in job search after graduation, studying abroad, etc. Especially, the first course of the English Language Honors Program will graduate this year. In today's defense session, we have 41 completed projects, the number has increased a lot compared to every year, which is a good sign when students pay a lot of attention to scientific research activities.”

At the defense session, students confidently presented their research results to the council, demonstrating their serious investment in research. Council members evaluated and asked questions, acknowledged students' contributions and gave practical advice, helping students improve their knowledge and practical application of the topic.
Do Ngoc Hoang My - a student of Course 25, one of 41 students participating in the thesis defend, shared: “I think the biggest lesson in the process of doing the thesis is patience and determination. There were many periods when I felt unmotivated, but thanks to the support of my teachers and my own efforts, my friends and I completed the goal. Today's results will be the motivation for our Course 25 to strive harder on the path of pursuing scientific research."

Supervisors and committees highly appreciate the urgency and applicability of the graduate theses. Besides, the teachers also praised the spirit and serious working attitude of the students. Today's results may not be a perfect thesis, but it will be a premise for future graduates of English Language majors to continue researching and developing their career path.
