On February 22, 2023, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Van Lang University welcomed a delegation from Meiji University (Japan), providing opportunities for Oriental Studies students, majoring in Japanese studies to study and exchange at the university in the land of cherry blossoms.
The meeting was attended by Assoc. Udo Satoshi - School of Global Japanese Studies (SGJS) at Meiji University; Dr. Nguyen Bao Thanh Nghi - Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities at Van Lang University; MSc. Le Thi Minh Tam - Head of External Relations Department; Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh Nhu - Head of Oriental Studies; MSc. Duong Ngoc Phuc - Deputy Head of the Department, in charge of the Department of Japanese Studies.
To foster cooperation and exchange in the field of education and development planning between Van Lang University and Meiji University, the two institutions have discussed the infrastructure to support the exchange programs, and the lessons learned from organizing international classes. Both institutions aim to promote open education by helping students access multi-dimensional information quickly on training programs, the faculty, facilities, and learning environments, thereby helping students to choose the exchange and international programs that are suitable for them.

Udo Satoshi - the School of Global Japanese Studies (SGJS) at Meiji University states: "The School of Global Japanese Studies at Meiji University was established in 2008 with the aim of integrating Japanese studies. Currently, SGJS has 20% international students, and we offer 8 different levels of Japanese classes. International students participating in the program are divided into 8 research fields, including K-Pop Culture, Visual Culture Studies, Social Systems and Media Studies, International Relations and Intercultural Exchange Studies, International Culture and Thoughts Studies, Japanese Culture and Thoughts Studies, Japanese Language Studies, and English Language Studies".
Meiji University, located in Tokyo, Japan, is widely recognized as one of the top private universities for international students studying in Japan. Over the years, Meiji University has successfully trained many talented individuals in the land of cherry blossoms. It is expected that Van Lang University and Meiji University will soon sign an MOU and implement academic and student exchange activities.
