Three Master’s Programmes of Van Lang University Achieve Accreditation Standards Issued by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET)

On October 31, 2024, Van Lang University (VLU) celebrated a significant milestone with the awarding ceremony of accreditation certificates for three Master’s programmes in Architecture, Business Administration, and Finance-Banking. This achievement marks an important step in the University's commitment to advancing the quality of its postgraduate education. These three programs are part of the University's 16 Master’s degree offerings that have now been accredited by the MOET, reaffirming VLU's dedication to maintaining and enhancing academic excellence.

At the ceremony, VLU warmly welcomed delegates, particularly the presence of Dr. Le My Phong - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Education Quality Management Agency (VQA) at the MOET, and Dr. Tran Dinh Quang - Director of the Education Accreditation Center at Vinh University.

In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of VLU, congratulated the three programmes and highlighted that this achievement is the result of relentless efforts from the entire VLU community. She stated, “Since 2018, VLU has been implementing quality improvement and accreditation activities for its academic programmes. By 2023, the University had completed the third cycle of institutional accreditation under the MOET’s standards and achieved international accreditation from FIBAA. The past six years have been VLU’s journey of perseverance and dedication from the entire institution and stakeholders, from lecturers and staff to students, alumni, and partner businesses, who have all contributed invaluable insights. As a result, The University is continuously improving, from the smallest adjustments to a deep understanding of how to measure learning outcomes, optimize teaching methods, and enhance academic programme quality, all aimed at creating a learning environment where students receive truly valuable education every day.”

In her address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu affirmed, “Van Lang is confident in stating that all commitments made to learners and society are being fulfilled in line with our goal of creating a positive impact on the community. We always look forward, centering our approach around students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to confidently step into the world and proudly say, ‘I am Vietnamese, and I am ready to bring inspirational impact to society.’ She also directed the programmes to continue improving and enhancing quality, with the goal of achieving international accreditation in the next accreditation cycle, contributing to Van Lang’s longstanding vision for developing graduate education.

Dr. Le My Phong, Deputy Director of VQA extended his congratulations to the leadership team, lecturers, and students of VLU. Having visited VLU several times for work, the Deputy Director remarked, “With 30 years of tireless effort, Van Lang has accomplished a very important thing that is establishing and developing a comprehensive quality culture within the institution, thereby affirming VLU’s brand and success.” He emphasized the need for educational institutions, especially in higher education, to develop a coherent and robust internal quality assurance system. “In this new era, every university must clearly understand its responsibility in training human resources to produce high-quality personnel, thereby helping Vietnam rise strong and prosperous by 2045,” he stated.

Dr. Tran Dinh Quang, Director of the Education Accreditation Center at Vinh University, expressed his congratulations and gratitude to the University and Faculties for facilitating the external evaluation process needed for accreditation. He emphasized that accreditation and improvement is a challenging journey, but the results are foundational to building trust among learners and society. He believes that, with a strong foundation, VLU will remain steadfast in this journey, actualizing the University’s vision and mission to become one of the most admired young universities in Asia by 2030.

The ceremony not only marks a significant milestone in the 30-year journey of cultivating a culture of quality at the University, but it also reflects a strong commitment to providing quality education to learners, inspiring positive societal impact, and affirming Van Lang’s position within the higher education system in Vietnam. This serves as the foundation and motivation for the University to continue enhancing the quality of academic programmes, aligning with VLU’s vision, mission, core values, and educational philosophy.
