In the spirit of exchange, learning, and sharing educational perspectives, the University Challenge Day program organized by the International Education Institute of Van Lang University brought diverse experiential activities to students from Newcastle University and Van Lang University.
At the event, Associate Professor James Welsh from the School of Engineering (UON) and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Duc, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology (VLU), dedicatedly guided students to explore and discuss solutions for traffic congestion in Ho Chi Minh City, flood issues in Ho Chi Minh City, solutions for campus, and transportation systems.
Through the data, groups of students reflected various perspectives on the status of the problem. They also suggested practical solutions such as developing applications for flood monitoring in HCMC, developing road networks to minimize traffic jams, building a metro railway management system, multi-dimensional traffic monitoring, and lighting systems, and integrating satellite data to analyze intelligent maps and traffic situations,…
In addition, Van Lang students warmly guided Newcastle University students to visit the campus, learning about Vietnamese culture, cuisine, and people.
In the upcoming period, both institutions continue to strengthen their strategic cooperation, aim to organize the International Debate Championship 2024 and expand student experiential activities. In March 2024, Van Lang University expects to welcome faculty and students from the School of Nursing and Midwifery of Newcastle University to participate in a 2-week Nursing Program experience in Vietnam.
