Following an intense journey of discovery, assessment, and selection, VanLang’s Got Talent 2024 came to a close on the night of January 6th, 2025, offering an emotional grand finale with outstanding performances.
Van Lang’s Got Talent, a talent competition hosted by the University's Union, provides Van Lang students with a cultural and artistic stage to display their passions and reveal their latent talents. The 18 final contestants, from both Music and Other Talents categories, presented remarkable performances that resonated with the judges and audience.
Throughout the competition, the young talents were supported by a panel of judges, which included MSc. Pham Thanh Phuoc - Secretary of the Youth Union at Van Lang University, Singer/Producer Bùi Duy Ngọc, and Singer Annie.
Serving as a judge on the grand finale night, singer Annie expressed after viewing the performances: “Today's acts have stirred up the passion and youthful spirit in me. It felt like I was attending an art performance rather than a competition. Each of you has put in great effort and delivered outstanding performances’’.
Performing a mashup of four songs by the late musician Trinh Cong Son: 'Em la bong hong nho,' 'Bong khong la bong,' 'Ha trang,' and 'Doa hoa vo thuong,' contestant Pham Tien Dat skillfully expressed the importance of small yet meaningful values in life. Thanks to this exceptional performance, Tien Dat emerged as the winner of the Music Talent category at Van Lang’s Got Talent 2024.The Wave Cheerleading group triumphed in the Other Talents category with their captivating performance 'Passion and Reality,' sending out a powerful message: never abandon your passions and dreams; instead, let them fuel your determination to pursue and attain success in life.With a hauntingly powerful voice, contestant Dao Truc Anh mesmerized the audience with an emotionally charged performance of the famous song 'Tren dinh Phu Van' by musician Pho Duc Phuong.Contestant Huynh Trieu Phu presented the soulful folk song 'Em minh oi,' touching the hearts of the audience with its gentle, profound melody and conveying a message of love and equality.With a storyline centered around destitute children who sell lottery tickets yet harbor dreams of a brighter future, De Men’s play moved the audience by addressing numerous profound aspects of society.The dance performance “Stronger of Stronger” by contestant Le Thi Le Hang left a powerful impact, each movement expressing raw emotions and highlighting the challenges she encounters in life.The Chill Guys skillfully portrayed the image of strong and resilient firefighters through their performance 'Awakening in the Flames,' while conveying the message: always burn passionately with your dreams and push your limits to see how far you can go.The play “Nuoc mat hoa su” by Khoi Thanh Drama Group centers on a girl who goes to Saigon for work, abandoning her elderly father in the village. The touching and true-to-life story brought many in the audience to tears.Nguyen Trung Ha, with his original rap song 'Phu nu Viet Nam,' expressed profound admiration and reverence for Vietnamese women.Performing 'Co gai vot chong,' Luu Ngoc Han highlighted her impressive vocal range and power. She earned the judges' recognition and claimed the runner-up prize in the Music category.Creating new lyrics to the song 'Shh! Chi Ta Biet Thoi,' Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung deftly conveyed the profound feelings of a girl longing for love but burdened by unspoken sorrows.“Tuoi 20”, performed by Luong Thien, brought forth emotional moments for the viewers, highlighting the unyielding spirit of young soldiers who eternally live as '20-year-olds' to protect the nation.With the folk-inspired song “Ho tren nui”, Nguyen Hoang Yen showcased her sweet and powerful voice during her performance.With strong and masterful dance steps, Tran Dang Phat's act “Real Office” erupted on stage, telling the tale of a woman striving and struggling for equality.“Giac mo la doi canh” a short play by Pham Van Ninh, captured the audience's hearts by recounting the fervent and devoted journey of a young man in pursuit of his acting dream.With a performance brimming with energy, Duong Quoc Anh invigorated the stage with his dynamic and fresh take on the song “Em moi la nguoi yeu anh”.Performing the jazz song “Almost There”, Vo Doan Gia Phuong impressed the audience with a heartfelt rendition that reflects a young girl’s passionate spirit and strong resolve, as she tirelessly pursues her dreams.
Van Lang’s Got Talent provides a platform for the young talents of Van Lang University to not only display their skills but also confirm their passion and continuous effort. Wishing all young talents ongoing development and success in their future artistic paths.
