The Student Success Center of Van Lang University hosted the workshop "Learn to Remember – Leveraging Technology for Successful Learning" (October 8, 2024) and the seminar "Google AI: An Introduction to the World of Artificial Intelligence" (October 9, 2024), attracting a large number of students.
In the workshop, Mr. Luong Anh Vu, an IELTS teacher management and training expert at IELTS Power Up and a research and training advisor at TESOL Simple Education, shared effective techniques for learning English. The speaker emphasized the importance of two advanced learning methods: Spaced Repetition and Active Recall. These techniques help learners optimally retain information and apply it effectively in real-life situations.
The workshop was not only a platform for exchanging knowledge but also a forum for students to share diverse perspectives and real-life experiences, contributing to the growth and development of the academic community. The Simple English System awarded numerous attractive scholarships to Van Lang students during the event, encouraging their spirit of learning and creativity.
On October 9, 2024, the Student Success Center, in collaboration with Google and the National Innovation Center (NIC), organized a special seminar titled "Google AI: A First Step into the World of Artificial Intelligence." This program is part of a series of projects and activities by NIC and Google to enhance digital skills and knowledge for the workforce in Vietnam.
Mr. Ngo Cao Hoai Linh, Director of the Student Success Center, proudly shared, "Van Lang has always been one of the first higher education institutions in the southern region to implement talent development programs in the digital field."
The seminar included presentations by experts on the importance of AI, effective ways to write commands for AI, the Google AI Essentials course, the benefits of earning a Google Career Certificate, and guidance on how to effectively study courses on the Coursera platform. The event also honored and encouraged outstanding students who had completed the Google course as part of the University's digital talent development project.
The experts' insights sparked greater interest among students in AI knowledge and encouraged them to be more creative in applying it.
Ms. Tan Anh, Head of the NIC Human Resources Development Department, expressed her pride and emotion when introducing the digital talent development program. She emphasized the three main tasks of the National Innovation Center: developing an innovation and startup ecosystem, supporting businesses, and developing human resources.
These events not only equip students with essential skills to enhance their competitive abilities but also provide a solid professional foundation, while reaffirming the university's commitment to innovation and offering opportunities to connect with leading experts and researchers.
