Van Lang University cooperates with Altair Engineering on digital transformation and artificial intelligence initiatives.

On the afternoon of September 15, 2023, Van Lang University signed a strategic MOA with Altair Engineering SDN, BHD and PCB Graphtech Vietnam CoLtd, and simultaneously co-organized the "Altair Technology Day" workshop opening up new development opportunities in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Altair Engineering Inc. is a U.S company established in 1985 that designs and develops engineering software and cloud computing software. Altair's headquarters is currently located in Troy city of Michigan state (USA) with regional offices across the Americas, Europe, and Asia serving over 5,000 customers in various industries.

Established in 2012, Altair Engineering SDN, BHD is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Altair, specializing in providing advanced engineering solutions, on-demand computing technology, and enterprise analytics solutions for companies in various industrial fields including automotive, defense, oil and gas, and consumer goods.

PCB GraphTech Vietnam is the exclusive distributor of Altium Designer software in the Southeast Asian market. They are also a strategic partner and authorized agent for the distribution of software such as DraftSight, Solidworks, 3D Experience, and Delmia Works by Dassault Systèmes. Additionally, they provide consultancy services for implementing solutions related to simulation, big data, and artificial intelligence from Altair in the Vietnamese market.

Capitalizing on the opportunities presented by the trend of technological shifts of Industry 4.0, on the afternoon of September 15, 2023, Van Lang University signed a strategic MOA with Altair Engineering Sdn, Bhd, and PCB GraphTech Vietnam Co., Ltd., and simultaneously, co-organized the "Altair Technology Day '' workshop. The workshop had the participation of Mr. Lim Seng Tat, Regional Business Director for ASEAN at Altair Engineering SDN, BHD; Mr. Le Thanh Tuan, General Director of PCB GraphTech Vietnam; along with MSc. Bui Pham Lan Phuong, Vice President of Van Lang University, Chairwoman of the VLTECH University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thoi Trung, Director of the Institute of Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence; Mr. Le Van Ut, Assistant to the Chairman of Van Lang University for Scientific Research; Dr. Le Hung Tien, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, etc.

Based on the cooperation agreement among three units, Van Lang University, Altair, and PCB GraphTech Vietnam will enhance collaboration and develop research activities in the fields of digital transformation, simulation design, data analysis, and artificial intelligence, coordinating to establish technology centers, training programs, projects, and skill development courses for students.

Mr. Lim Seng Tat, Regional Business Director for ASEAN at Altair Engineering SDN, BHD, expressed his impression of the digital transformation process in education at Van Lang University. Following the workshop, Altair Engineering SDN, BHD has even more plans to work with Van Lang University to implement further digital transformation in the field of education.

Students from the Faculty of Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering at Van Lang University attended the workshop and learned about innovative technology, specifically focusing on the supporting platform for the application of AI in data analysis. Mr. Le Thanh Tuan, General Director of PCB GraphTech Vietnam shared: “Currently, most enterprises have set ambitious goals for the development of high technology but are lacking data analysis experts. Recognizing this situation, we have provided users solutions through Machine Learning and AI tools that can be used in various contexts and for various purposes, such as in financial services, CPG & retail. These applications can analyze customer behavior, explain life-scientific phenomena, analyze and sample the Covid-19 vaccine, etc. Analyzing stored data platforms from tools that do not require users to have coding knowledge but can still use the platform is an optimal solution for today's businesses.”

Based on the series of programs that Van Lang University has co-organized in collaboration with Altair Engineering SDN, BHD, and PCB GraphTech Vietnam Co., Ltd, the workshop series has been organized from the beginning of the year until now and is intended for the Faculties of Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, the Faculty of Commerce, and the Faculty of Tourism have been all creating positive results to students when using Altair Hyperworks simulation software in training, research, and technology transfer at Van Lang University.
