Responding to the International Women's Day on March 8, 2024, the VLU Trade Union launched the "Van Lang Ao Dai Week" to honor the traditional beauty and grace of Vietnamese women.
The "Van Lang Ao Dai Week" was organized by Van Lang University in response to the "Ao Dai Week" initiated by the Vietnam Women's Union, aiming to celebrate the graceful charm of Vietnamese women in the traditional ao dai. Through this activity, the Executive Committee aimed to instill pride in the national costume and the value of ao dai in Vietnamese life.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of the VLU Trade Union, shared, “The "Van Lang Ao Dai Week" which aims to celebrate International Women's Day is one of the long-standing activities maintained by the University’s Trade Union. It not only provides an opportunity for lectures to adorn themselves in the most beautiful ao dai and capture commemorative photos but also contributes to preserving and spreading the traditional beauty of Vietnamese national costumes, inspiring students to conserve and promote traditional values.”
The spaces at Van Lang University campuses were enriched with vibrant colors due to ao dai designs prepared by the lecturers for this special day. After working hours, units eagerly came together to take photos and share joyful moments with colleagues. In many units, male lecturers also prepared delicious treats and small gifts for their female colleagues, bringing laughter and joy to the familiar workspace.
Mr. Vu Van Hai, a lecturer at the Faculty of Commerce, shared, "On International Women's Day, my colleagues and I wore ao dai together and took memorable photos. Wishing all female colleagues and VLU students beauty, happiness, and success in life as well as career."
