Van Lang University honors 17 sports teams and individuals for their achievements in sports competitions during the 2022-2023 academic year

On August 23, 2023, Van Lang University organized a Commendation Ceremony for 17 teams and individuals who achieved outstanding results in sports competitions during the 2022-2023 academic year at the N2T1 hall.

With the philosophy of holistic education, besides specialized knowledge, sports activities at Van Lang University have always received close attention from the university's leadership. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the university's sports activities have achieved significant success in both national and international competitions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, the President of Van Lang University, summarized: “You not only bring back awards but also promote Van Lang University's image internationally. The achievements of our dear lecturers and students have clearly shown a strong will and high unity. We hope that you will continue to maintain your passion for sports, thus developing and spreading positive impacts and inspiring society.”

Van Lang University congratulates and acknowledges the dedication of 17 teams and over 170 individuals who have left their mark representing the university in various sports competitions:

1. Hoang Gia Bao - Gold Medal in Aerobic at SEA Games 32.
2. Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong - First Place in Southeast Asian Youth Chess Championship.
3. Men's Futsal Team - Champions of the 2022 HD Bank Cup Student Futsal Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City.
4. Women's 3x3 Basketball Team - Champions of the Student Sports Games Vietnam in the Southern region.
5. Varolant E-Sports Team - Champions of the 2023 Student Sports Games Vietnam.
6. Toc Chien Team - Champions of the 2022 UEC Samsung Student E-Sports Tournament.
7. Men's Football Team - Top 8 in the 2023 Vietnamese National Student Football Tournament.
8. Men's Volleyball Team - Second Place in RMIT University's 2022 Volleyball Tournament, Third Place in the Thien Tan and Ton Duc Thang University's Volleyball Tournaments.
9. Men's Basketball Team - Third Place in the 2022 National Student Basketball Tournament in the Southern region.
10. Women's Basketball Team - Third Place in the 2022 National Student Basketball Tournament.
11. VLU’s Staff and Faculty Members Football Team - Champions of the 21st Sports Contest Volleyball.
12. Group of Phan Bao Thien Long, Lam Nhat Nguyen, Lam Diem Ha, Nguyen Ngoc Yen Phuong - Bronze Medal in the RMIT University Badminton Tournament in 2022.
13. Group of Nguyen Hoang Dai Lam, Le Thi Ngan Giang - Gold Medal in the Hutech University Taekwondo Tournament in 2022.
14. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Bronze Medal in the Hutech University Taekwondo Tournament in 2022.
15. Group of Bui Nguyen Trang Anh, and Duong Duc Huy - Gold Medal in the Ho Chi Minh City Table Tennis Tournament in 2023.
16. Group of Nguyen Cam Nhung, and Tran Nguyen Hoang Mai - Bronze Medal in the Ho Chi Minh City Table Tennis Tournament in 2023.
17. Group of Nguyen Thi Tue Tam, and Tran Thi Xuan Nghi - Gold Medal in the Ho Chi Minh City Karatedo Tournament in 2023.
18. Group of Nguyen Duy Tien, Le Nguyen Vu, Do Cong Danh, and Nguyen Hoang Linh - Bronze Medal in the Ho Chi Minh City Karatedo Tournament in 2023.
19. Group of Phan Thanh Vu, Nguyen Minh Tan, and Ung Duy Khanh - Gold Medal at the Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Martial Arts Festival.
20. Group of Phan Ho Trong Tin, Le Ngoc Tram - Silver Medal at the Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Martial Arts Festival.
21. Group of Nguyen Anh Minh Quan, Than Thanh Loc, Nguyen Huu Duy, Le Quang Huy, Truong Tien Khai - Bronze Medal in the 2023 Van Hien University Taekwondo Open Tournament.

Representing the students at the ceremony, Nguyen Cong Tai,  Course 26 student from the Van Lang University Men's Football Team, expressed gratitude to the Administrators, Student Support Center, Youth Union-Federation, and coaches for their support that helped the Van Lang team compete at their best. The team members are committed to giving their all in order to achieve remarkable achievements and contribute to the university's overall success and their personal growth.

Since 2021, with the aim of developing diverse and professional Physical Education programs, Van Lang University established a Sports Center following international standards, training many sports like football, swimming, athletics, yoga, tennis, etc. This allows students to simultaneously improve their physical fitness alongside their studies.

Every year, Van Lang University awards numerous valuable scholarships for freshmen to encourage young talents in the fields of culture, arts, sports, community activities, entrepreneurship, and scientific research, helping young people to develop themselves and achieve their dreams at the university.
