Van Lang University Hosts Financial Investment “Arena” for Ho Chi Minh City Students in 2024

After three months of organization, on June 12, 2024, the “Future Investor 2024” competition organized by the Faculty of Finance and Banking of Van Lang University has officially found three excellent teams.

Held annually, “Future Investor” competition is a playground for groups of students passionate about the field of economics and finance, and eager to learn about economics, business and investment. In 2024, the competition has attracted the registration of more than 400 students from 12 universities in the city: Van Lang University, Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Van Hien University, ... 94 teams competed in 3 rounds of challenges: online multiple-choice quiz, group stock investment directly on the stock exchange, and investment strategy presentation.

In the final round on June 12, 2024, the contestants had to face the challenge of the VN-Index stock market plummeting by more than 100 points. In a situation, when company stocks are gradually going down, the contestants groups need to seize opportunities, and demonstrate their bravery through the process of market analysis, building investment strategies and applying learned methods such as VSA, TSSL, Black Scholes Model, ... to make accurate decisions, create breakthroughs in profit margin for the team, thereby convincing the judges.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu - President of Van Lang University summarized: “The competition has brought many valuable and practical experiences to the participating students. With “Future Investor”, you have a playground to apply the specialized knowledge you have learned, to interact and exchange between different groups.” From a playground for students of Van Lang University and Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics, in 2024, “Future Investor” has expanded and connected university units with the same major in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing a playground to demonstrate the spirit of fair competition, sharing and connecting between reputable educational institutions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Hoang - Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking shared that the students have experienced 3 months of practical combat together, overcoming 2 rounds of challenges in economic knowledge, financial investment and application in the stock market. “You have become real investors right in your school days. The experiences at the competition with many levels of emotions will certainly become unforgettable memories and help you further improve yourself” - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Hoang conveyed.

For Business Administration students, in addition to studying in lecture halls and practical experiences at businesses, Van Lang University actively invests in building professional and large-scale playgrounds, such as: SLOG Challenge for students majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management students, Marketing Generators for Marketing students, Ra Khoi - a launching pad for young students passionate about starting a business, or Future Investor for Finance and Banking students. After many years of development, the competitions have created a distinctive mark and increasingly attract a growing number of participants from both domestic and international institutions. 

With the experience and knowledge gained from the competition, the opportunities to network with experts, businesses and like-minded peers, it is believed that the "Future Investor" playground is undoubtedly a worthwhile investment, providing tangible benefits to Van Lang students and business and finance students in general.
