Van Lang University hosts first pharmaceutical science and technology conference – VLU PHARMA I 2024

On June 26, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Van Lang University successfully organized the first Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Conference – VLU PHARMA I 2024. The event brought together scientists, faculty members, and pharmacy students to exchange knowledge and experiences on the latest advancements in pharmaceutical science and technology in Vietnam and worldwide.

With the goal of enhancing research capacity and updating professional knowledge, VLU PHARMA I 2024 served as a platform for renowned experts and scientists, both domestic and international, to share the latest research achievements and emerging trends in pharmaceutical sciences. It also created opportunities for research collaborations among various organizations.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research and collaboration across scientific fields to address complex health issues: “This is the first scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, marking seven years of growth and development. It is a valuable opportunity for students to learn from leading experts while networking and exchanging ideas with young colleagues. The reports presented at the conference not only focused on pharmaceutical sciences but also extended to other health-related fields, showcasing the interdisciplinary and highly applicable nature of scientific research. This also underscores the importance of addressing health challenges comprehensively.”

The conference featured one plenary session and two parallel sessions, including 20 oral presentations and 28 poster presentations. The reports covered a wide range of topics, from medicinal herbs and pharmaceutical technology to pharmacology and clinical pharmacy. Notably, the organizing committee awarded prizes for the best student poster presentations, encouraging the scientific research spirit among young participants.

VLU PHARMA I 2024 was not only a platform for academic exchange but also a bridge connecting scientists and businesses. The event provided opportunities for stakeholders to meet, exchange ideas, seek partnerships, and expand collaboration networks, thereby promoting research and development in the pharmaceutical field.

The first pharmaceutical science and technology conference of VLU’s faculty of pharmacy concluded successfully, marking a significant milestone in the faculty's journey of advancing scientific research. With the support and collaboration of experts, lecturers, students, and partners, VLU PHARMA promises to become a prestigious annual event, contributing to improving the quality of pharmaceutical education and research in Vietnam, aiming to serve public health.
