In March and December 2022, Van Lang University organized free medical checks for all new students of the 27th Course and new students of the 28th Course at VLMC General Clinic (Campus 2) and the main campus of Van Lang University. This is an activity that the University has organized annually for many years, helping students check their health before starting the new school year.

The process of medical checks for new students includes the following steps:

Phase 1:

  • Registering online for medical checks and confirming the appointment according to the coordination of the Student Support Center.
  • Queuing and checking in at the reception area to receive a barcode, which should be attached to the test tube.
  • Blood sample collection at the testing area.
  • X-ray examination. Students will receive notifications of test results and a general medical checkup appointment after completing all the steps in Phase 1.

Phase 2: At the VLMC clinic, new students are examined by doctors from various medical specialties:

  • Measurement of height, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Optical examination and vision measurement.
  • Dental and facial examination to detect diseases of teeth and gums, etc.
  • Otorhinolaryngology examination.
  • Dermatological examination to detect skin diseases.
  • External examination, including bone and joint checks.
  • Consultation regarding blood test results.

At the optical examination and vision measurement area, Van Lang University provides eyeglass consultations, and the doctors also offer enthusiastic advice to students on how to protect their eyes and methods for managing nearsightedness and astigmatism.

In addition, female students receive advice on reproductive health care from doctors; they are instructed on how to prevent certain gynecological diseases and increase their awareness of monitoring their personal health status and carrying out health protection measures.

Medical examinations bring many benefits, allowing students to clearly understand their physical condition as well as detect potential diseases. Hopefully, with the support of Van Lang University and the dedication of the doctors, new students will always be aware of healthcare, maintain a healthy diet, engage in regular exercise, and participate in sports activities to start the new school year with good health and energy.
