The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) organization has recently released its 2024 Asia University Rankings, featuring 857 institutions, including 15 representatives from Vietnam. For the first time, Van Lang University (VLU) has made it onto the QS rankings, meeting 11 criteria set by the organization, securing the 117th position in Southeast Asia, and placing within the top 701-750 best universities in Asia for 2024.
In November 2021, VLU proudly became the first university in Vietnam to achieve a QS 4-star rating in its initial evaluation. Notably, the University earned a 5-star rating on four out of eight criteria, including graduate employability, academic development, facilities, and social responsibility. Additionally, it received a 4-star rating in two categories: teaching quality and culture & arts.
The QS Rankings highlight VLU’s persistent efforts in its journey to establish a brand focused on education and training quality, progressively aligning with international standards. Building on today’s achievements, VLU will continue to refine and innovate in the future, fulfilling its mission to nurture talent and train holistic individuals who bring positive and inspirational impacts to society.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is one of the three most prestigious and influential university ranking organizations globally. The QS rankings are based on 11 indicators, with the highest weight given to academic and employer reputation (30% and 20%, respectively), followed by lecturer/student ratio (10%), the percentage of lecturers with a PhD (5%), research papers per faculty (5%), citations per paper (10%), international research network (10%), the proportion of international lecturers (25%), and the proportion of international students (25%).
