In June 2023, the Faculty of Finance and Banking in cooperation with the Dak Glong District Youth Union, Manulife Vietnam Life Insurance Company, TVP Steel Joint Stock Company (Long An) and philanthropists, completed the meaningful community project "Illuminating the Path to School for M'Nong ethnic minority children."

Extending the journey of bringing light to remote areas, in December 2023, the Faculty of Finance and Banking continued to implement the program "Illuminating the Path to School for ethnic minority children in the mountainous region"  in Van Canh district, Binh Dinh province.

With the support of faculty members, lecturers, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, along with the partnership of HD Bank Binh Dinh branch and philanthropists, the program raised a total of VND 101 million (about USD 4,300) to implement a lighting project on the roads connecting the villages of Hiep Hung, Suoi Da, and Hiep Tien in Canh Hiep commune, Van Canh district, for local people. This will help children in the area have better living conditions and an easier way to school and daily commune. The project involved the installation of 50 solar-powered UFO lights with a capacity of 400W each, ensuring safety and reducing monthly costs for residents.

On December 22, 2023, at the handover ceremony for the project, 20 gifts, including backpacks and school supplies were presented to children from families in difficult circumstances living in Van Canh district.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Hoang, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at VLU, stated: “We determine that this will be a regular activity of the Faculty, and we will continue to bring light to impoverished and remote areas, including mountainous and island regions, so that ethnic minorities have convenient conditions for daily activities and children can safely go to school.”

This will help ensure security and order, reduce theft, and minimize traffic accidents when traveling at night."
