From November 14th to 17th, 2024, a group of students from Class 28 of Van Lang University, including 3 Interior Design students and 3 Furniture Design students, won 3 third-place awards at the 2024 Chinese Universities Interior Design Skills Competition held in Nanning City, Guangxi Province (China).
The China National Interior Decoration Association's annual Interior Design Skills Competition has grown into a major international event. In 2024, 180 teams from China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam competed, demonstrating the highest levels of interior design talent. The competition aims to enhance students' skills, foster innovation, and strengthen ties between academia and industry.
Under the guidance of Ms. Luong Thi Thanh Binh and Ms. Huynh Thanh Quyen, lecturers of the Interior Design Department of the Faculty of Arts and Design, the VLU students were divided into 3 teams and officially entered the competition. According to the rules, the contestants utilize the softwares on the computers provided by the Organizing Committee to complete the exam. Afterward, within 5 minutes, the teams took turns presenting their work to the judging panel in a closed room.
With a solid foundation of specialized knowledge, an innovative mindset, combined with rapid computer-aided design capabilities and fluent English communication skills, VLU representatives left a lasting impression on the competition, showcasing the high quality of their education.

In addition to the monetary award of 3000 RMB and the honorary certificate presented by the organizing committee, the student group expressed their deep appreciation for the invaluable support and encouragement received from their institution and the organizing committee. The highlight of their experience was the opportunity to network with international peers and design professionals.
