Van Lang University Students achieved awards at Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023

On December 31, 2023, the Finale & Artistic Fireworks Performance of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023 officially took place in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. It brought joy to the Van Lang community that Tran Thu Huyen, an outstanding student of Course 28 majoring in International Business was honored with the Miss Sport Award, and Nguyen Hung Bao, a former student of Course 23 majoring in Fashion Design won the First Prize for the Cultural National Costume Promotion project at the competition.

Despite being a completely new face in beauty pageants, Thu Huyen remarkably surpassed many formidable competitors, securing her spot among the Top 59 contestants in the Reality TV round. Sharing her message upon entering the competition, Thu Huyen stated: "I am a track and field athlete, and I have achieved numerous prestigious Gold medals in my life. This passion has led me to my current job as a physical education teacher. I came to this competition by chance, but through perseverance, 'I trained myself.' I am here to affirm that I aspire to claim the highest position of Miss Cosmo Vietnam."

Alongside Thu Huyen’s impressive achievement, the "Tý Hỷ" (The mouse’s wedding) outfit by Nguyen Hung Bao, an alumnus of Course 23 majoring in Fashion Design, stood out among 37 designs, winning first prize in the Cultural National Costume Promotion project at Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023. The "Tý Hỷ" (The Mouse’s Wedding) design, presented by the beauty Kieu Thi Thuy Hang (Top 10 finalist), has also gained popularity among young people, with many sharing images on various social media platforms.

Inspired by the folk painting "The Mouse's Wedding" from the Đong Ho folk painting genre, "Tý Hỷ" not only embodies traditional folk art but also carries the mission of promoting Vietnamese culture's integration with international friends, blending with the currents of the era towards the future.

Apart from Nguyen Hung Bao, designs by Van Lang students also made it to the Top 16 in the Cultural National Costume Promotion project of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023.
