As part of the tour and cultural exchange program between Van Lang University and Paris-Est Créteil University (UPEC), Vietnamese and French students exchanged various interesting perspectives on economics.

On May 7, 2024, Business and Management students from Paris-Est Créteil University (UPEC, France) and Van Lang University students came together for an exchange program. They engaged in various activities and lively debates on various fascinating economic topics.

VLU and UPEC students participated in debating topics around the field of economics. The jury of the debate included Mr. Yannick Le Gouelle - Head of the Faculty of International Business UPEC and MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Lan - Head of the Global Engagement Department of VLU International Education Institute.

The support team, composed of students from the International Education Institute at Van Lang University, had provided specific evidence showing Vietnam's economic development from the subsidy period to the socialist-oriented market economy, affirming the effectiveness and positive impact that the government brings through reasonable policies and regulations.

Students from the two universities were divided into small groups to discuss and share their agreements or disagreements on various issues, including the relationship between government and the market, the global implementation of universal basic income (UBI), and the effects of globalization on national development.

Students from VLU and UPEC agreed that globalization significantly influences the development of nations. The risk of cultural assimilation when receiving foreign cultures is especially not selective. Mama - a UPEC student emphasized: “Globalization can transform the original culture if the recipient lacks careful screening. More seriously, the cultural identity of that nation and country can be affected and disappear if it is not properly inherited, preserved and valued.”
