In February 2024, Van Lang University welcomed Milla Suominen - a second-year Marketing and Sales student Haaga-Helia University (Finland) to join the international student community for studying and experiencing life at Van Lang University.
Following the journey of two Finnish international students, Elias Samuli Jokitalo and Pyry Rasmus Viita-aho (Rasmus), Van Lang University warmly welcomed the freshman Milla Suominen to join the international student community for studying and experiencing life in Vietnam. This marks the third year that Van Lang University has implemented student exchange activities with Haaga-Helia University.
Currently, Milla is a second-year student majoring in Marketing and Sales. She shared: "I have always dreamed of experiencing life somewhere far from Finland. And a close Vietnamese friend of mine in Finland, has told me a lot of wonderful things about this place. That's why I decided to participate in the exchange program at Van Lang University to have the opportunity to study and explore Vietnam."
Starting her first courses from February 28, 2024, Milla will officially become part of the Van Lang University community, studying alongside Van Lang University students in the international exchange program for one semester with 4 courses. These courses will be credited equivalently to the courses at Haaga-Helia University.
During her study in Vietnam, Milla will stay in the main campus dormitory of Van Lang University. In addition, Nguyen Ngoc Quyen - a Course 27 student majoring in International Business - will be her "buddy" to accompany and support her. This is an opportunity for Milla to quickly adapt to student life, make friends, and create lasting memories in the environment she chose to study in.
Besides Milla Suominen, Van Lang University also welcomed two students, Shiohama Kohki and Morita Nao, from Asia Pacific University (Japan) to participate in teaching assistant internships, accompanying students majoring in Oriental Studies in cultural exchange programs, and organizing community connection activities in February 2024. During their one-month internship at Van Lang University, Shiohama Kohki and Morita Nao will assist in teaching and accompanying VLU students in Japanese language classes as well as contributing to establish projects to promote the beauty of Japanese culture in the future.
