Van Lang University's Fundamentals Of Vietnamese Culture course, within the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications, is gaining popularity for its varied and creative teaching approach. Students not only learn about Vietnam's tangible and intangible cultural heritage but also how to use this knowledge in their careers and daily lives.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Luu, a lecturer in the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications, the Fundamentals Of Vietnamese Culture course is a cornerstone, offering ample resources for students to foster creative thinking. It serves as a strong base for future specialized studies, including Brand Building and Management, and advanced courses in creative media product development and media program production.
On November 9, 2024, in the Fundamentals Of Vietnamese Culture course, the Brand Communications Department of the Faculty of Public Relations and Communications collaborated with the Thien Ly Cai Luong Troupe to organize the program "Cai Luong Art in Contemporary Life," attracting the participation of nearly 2,000 K30 students majoring in Multimedia Communications. The program aimed to preserve and promote the cultural and artistic values of Cai Luong, helping students access and better understand this traditional art form.
Van Lang students are uniquely offered the opportunity to directly participate and transform into Cai Luong artists on stage. With the enthusiastic guidance of professional artists, students practiced singing techniques and learned about the distinctive performance style of this traditional art form.
Luu Ngoc Han, a K30 Multimedia Communications student, shared her experience at the "Cai Luong Art in Contemporary Life" program: “I got to see how the program was organized and learned how to create a flawless event. This was a fantastic experience for my studies and helped me gain clearer direction for my future, particularly in event planning.”
With the richness and diversity of Vietnamese culture, the Fundamentals of Vietnamese Culture course not only helps students deeply understand traditional cultural values but also provides an opportunity for them to create unique media products. This is a solid foundation for students to develop their creativity, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of the nation's cultural values in the modern era.
