Workshop on “Methods for Selecting Reputable Scientific Journals and Minimizing Publication Costs”

On October, 29, 2024, the Training and Development Center (VLG) organized a workshop titled "Methods for Selecting Reputable Scientific Journals and Minimizing Publication Costs" to support the faculty and researchers in identifying reputable journals, minimizing risks from referencing low-quality journals, and optimizing publishing costs.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Le Van Ut, Assistant to the Chairman of the Van Lang University Board of Trustees for scientific research, attracting nearly 400 faculty members. Held in a hybrid format with both in-person discussions and online exchanges, the workshop focused on methods for selecting reputable scientific journals, avoiding low-quality journals, minimizing publication costs, and providing detailed guidance on choosing reliable international journals.

In his opening speech, Dr. Le Van Ut, Assistant to the Chairman of the Van Lang University Board of Trustees, shared: "The university leadership always prioritizes scientific research and understands the challenges that the lecturers and researchers face when selecting suitable journals. We hope the useful information from this workshop will help you overcome cost barriers, opening up more effective and higher-quality publishing options."

In addition to Dr. Le Van Ut's valuable insights, the workshop also included practical activities, discussions on journals, the SARAP technique, and publishing models. The hands-on support in database search techniques helped participants effectively address problems related to the publication process.

The workshop was lively and became a space for active discussion, where the faculty and researchers shared their knowledge and experiences to enhance the quality of scientific research. The Training and Development Center (VLG) plans to organize a series of in-depth workshops by the end of 2024, expanding networking opportunities and becoming a forum for connecting domestic scientists to share and inspire the lecturers and researchers at Van Lang university.
